In this episode, we cover Numbers 11 and 12. Israel is going to switch quickly from celebrating with a second Passover to complaining to Moses above many things. Moses’ siblings are even going to join in.
HAYLEY’S BIBLE BENDER:
My takeaway from this story was the focus on Miriam’s and Moses’ relationship. Although Miriam makes a mistake in desiring Moses’ power, Moses prays for forgiveness for his sibling that wronged him. Moses takes it one step further by having the camp wait for Miriam’s time outside camp to be completed before moving on. This is such a touching scene.
Remember in Exodus:
Miriam, as a child, saved Moses
- She waited by the river for Moses to be picked up in the basket
- She arranged from Moses’ mother to be his nursemaid
Moses, as an adult, saved Miriam
- Moses waited 7 days for Miriam’s return to camp
- He arranged for the entire Israel camp to stay put until she was allowed home.
It was just a great example of reconciliation, turning the other cheek, and showing compassionate like Jesus.
