The Migration of Abraham

Migration of Abraham

Migration of Abraham Map

This map, by Holman Bible Atlas, shows the migration of Abraham map. It highlights the possible migrations from Ur to Canaan. Like the key mentions, this migration was documented as part of Genesis 11:27-12:9. I love how it shows where Abraham traveled as he headed to the Promised land. It does not include how long this migration took, but with just walking and donkeys, I’m sure it was not a quick trip. Can you imagine it? It wasn’t just Abraham as well. Abraham had many family members, workers, livestock, and wealth. This migration would be his whole village making the trip. If you aren’t familiar with the story, make sure to read about Abraham’s life as he had many interesting experiences and made a few wrong choices along the way.

I love this map as it highlights various locations in Bible clearly. What do you find fascinating about the migration map? What do you find intriguing about the map? I love seeing all the cities and towns he passed through. Do you like having the visual? There will be many more maps added over time in the show notes for Biblical event we have yet to study together. Don’t miss out–keep checking the show notes page for updates. If maps aren’t for you, we will include some enlightening charts as well!
