Moses Timeline

bbc moses timeline

Here we have the Moses timeline. Have you ever studied the life of Moses? Did you know he lived 120 years? Forty in Egypt, forty at Mt Sinai, and forty in the wilderness leading the nation of Israel until his death. Moses wrote the entire Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Moses essentially wrote his autobiography of the task placed upon him to lead the nation of Israel out of slavery and to the Promised Land.

Due to Christian children’s movies I watched growing up, I always associated the book of Exodus with the exodus and wandering in the wilderness. I didn’t realize that was wrong into actually studying the books in depth. It’s the book of Numbers that handles all of the wandering of the nation of Israel. Bible Bender #1 from Moses.

What other discoveries do you find interesting from the timeline of Moses’s life? Do you find it shocking to realize Moses never makes it into the Promised Land? Let us know in the comments.

I’m most excited to really try to empathize withe Israel’s circumstances and their unique reality of leaving their home and slavery and pickup up and wandering the desert. I want to be able to visualize what following the cloud would have looked like and much more. What are you most interested in learning about through these next few books and podcast seasons?
