Kadesh-Barnea Map

Kadesh Barnea

Kadesh-Barnea was an interesting spot of growth for the Israelites. It is here that we see their growing pains in rebellion and the passing away of the old generation. If you look close enough you will see the burial spots of Miriam (Moses’ sister) and Aaron (Moses’ brother) highlighted. You will also notice (close to Canaan) the defeat of Israel. (Part of this to be mentioned in Deuteronomy and not just Numbers.)

In the key and the map itself, you will see many scriptures referenced. Miriam’s death was mentioned in Numbers 20:1. The rebellion by Korah came in Numbers 16. Kadesh-Barnea is mentioned in the Bible in multiple other verses such as Numbers 14, Numbers 20:22-29; Deuteronomy 1: 41-46.

If you are following along with Bible Book Club, we will get to the Deuteronomy references mid 2023! We won’t have a new territory to dig into until then.

As we know this is from the Holman Bible Atlas. Susan’s favorite map reference. I love this map so much! I find it so cool that it points to Canaan (aka the Promised Land). Do you see any other insights the map gives that I overlooked? Let me know in the comments.
