David’s Wars of Conquest

Davids war of conquests map

David’s Wars of Conquest

This map, by Holman Bible Atlas, shows the path of David’s wars of conquest. It highlights the route of conquest through Edom, Ammon, and Moab. Like the key mentions, this conquest was documented as part of 2 Samuel 11:1-12, 2 Samuel 31 as well as throughout 1 Chronicles 18: 1-12. The green arrow specifically outlines the military route against all the threats from Edomites, Philistines, and Armean forces. It’s quite the interesting story.

I love this map as it highlights various events in Bible clearly. Some examples illuminated on the map above are the places where David defeats all the various peoples. Another fun highlight from the map is the difference between the purple and green areas. Purple notes Saul’s deceased kingdom. Green notes David’s conquest territory.

What do you find fascinating about David’s wars of conquests? What do you find intriguing about the map? I love seeing where the other nations were that David fought and then defeated. Do you like having the visual? There will be many more maps added over time in the show notes for Biblical event we have yet to study together. Don’t miss out–keep checking the show notes page for updates.
