The Tribal Allotments of Israel

tribal allotments of israel

Here is the Tribal Allotments of Israel map. Have you ever wondered after reading about these 12 sons that became 12 tribes, what the dispersement and settling of this land would look like? Well, look no further. This, of course, comes from Susan’s map reference, the Holman Bible Atlas. If you are a visual learner, you might want to look into getting one for yourself.

As you will know from scripture, Levi, or the Levites become the priests and are divvied up to serve within all tribes. Another interesting tidbit is that Joseph doesn’t get a tribe–his inheritance or double portion goes to his two sons: Ephraim and Manasseh. You will see their names on the map above for this reason.

I’m not trying to give away all the spoilers but make sure to keep following along with the Bible Book Club as we follow this nation of 12 tribes through many years and generations. What Bible Bender do you have from studying the tribal allotments of Israel map?

For convenience, here is the link to the Scripture referenced in the map: Joshua 13: 8-19:49. Stick with us as we continue through Exodus into Numbers. We are just getting started on this crazy family that is the chosen nation. Any thoughts on this map or episode, let us know in the comments below.
