Wedding Details

Megan and I couldn’t have been happier with the wedding venue or our vendors. Here is a peek at the wedding details and all the amazing vendors who created this special day!

The Wedding Invitations

Welcome bags

The welcome bags were left in the hotels for the guests. A friend made the bags out of fabric I found on sale. The wedding monogram of MH was created by the talented graphic designer in our office, Reed Richardson.

Wedding Invitations

The invitations, wedding weekend details, and program were letter pressed by A&P Designs.

4 Generations of Wedding Dresses

While searching for photos to display of all the family weddings I found my mothers and grandmothers dresses in a box in the attic.  I grabbed the dresses and mine and through them in the car before we headed to Thomasville. I wanted a picture. My daughter Emily wrote the years on the hangers. Four generations of Brides!

Brides Hair and Make-up

What can I say about sweet, talented Rachel.  We have known her for years and it made getting ready that much more comfortable.  Her team made the whole Bridal party look beautiful and made me look five years younger. We were all happy! If you ever need your makeup done, look up Bridal Artistry

Bridesmaids Robes

Megan got these robes for her girls from BHLDN.

Bridesmaids Dresses

All of the handwriting on hangers and on the chalkboards was done by my daughter Emily.  It helps to have a maid of honor with an artistic gift! And the dresses came from Nordstrom

Our photographers became like friends. These girls made Hampton and Megan laugh and enjoy every moment.  We got the package with the engagement photo shoot and I love them. I would definitely recommend Red Fly Studio

The Wedding Ceremony

It is at this point, that I must address the use of a wedding planner. I was so thankful I had Alison. Alison was the only reason that I got to enjoy the wedding.  A wedding is a production and every production needs a producer, the mother of the bride is the point person unless you have a planner.  Not only did Alison provide experienced advice during the planning but she documented every detail for every vendor so that there was no room for error. She was calm and literally took care of everyone including giving her shoes to a guest whose heel broke! Now that is a planner devoted to the comfort and pleasure of the guests. Alison works with Confetti Events

Mother of the Bride Dress

Three things I loved about this MOB dress. 1. Comfort–it was really a skirt and a top so it was super comfortable.  2. Versatility–I have worn the top again already with another skirt. And I may just shorten this skirt to wear to other weddings. 3. IT HAD BIG POCKETS. I did not have to carry a purse because inside those pockets, I had: my phone, bobby pins for Megan, Megan’s lipstick, my lipstick and a small brush!

Wedding Ceremony

What can I say about Pebble Hill? It was fabulous. And I loved having the ceremony, cocktail reception, and dinner reception all in one place.  People walked from one to the other–it was beautiful. The Pebble Hill staff are seamless in their service, they moved things, set up, cleaned up and responded to every need with a lovely attitude.

Wedding Carriage

Of course, Pebble Hill provides a carriage. They provide everything.

Wedding Signature Cocktails

On the Rocks provided the bar and the signature drink that Megan and her girls concocted. It was so good we ran out.  They called it Bridesmaid’s Bouquet.  Matthew from on the Rocks has done this so much that his advice to me was very helpful and he provided everything including choices of bars.

Monogram Cornhole

The corn hole, horseshoes, and bocce ball were a big hit.  My sister, Kathie, and her husband, Greg, made the cornhole games and used the wedding monogram, that my friend Melissa (see below) cut out.

Ram Singletary is famous in Thomasville and around the South.  And for good reason, he knows his flowers, lighting, arrangements for tables, venues and more.  I kid you not if you are going to do a wedding in Thomasville see him first.  He knows everything and everyone you need to know and he will not disappoint you. Singletary’s Flowers will be sure to impress–simple yet drop dead gorgeous arrangements!

Wedding Monogram Pillows

It is a good thing that I have talented friends and family.  My friend Melissa LeClair made 22 pillows with this crazy machine she has.  Every one was different and beautiful.

About the food: I could post pictures that would fill another blog just for the food.  John Thomas and Jeanie Bracey, from John Thomas Catering, catered the event and they are an artistic, delicious duo.  I will never, ever forget the fried oysters. In fact, my friend Linda told the server passing the oysters to just stand with me while a made a meal of them!

Wedding Cake

Megan and I are cake snobs. We like to bake and we know good cake! So this young entrepreneur had a task to win our business. Leanna was super thorough in providing samples of her baking and drawings of her artistry. I think I could come up with more reasons to order a cake from Cake Me With You…

The band rocked and I mean it.  Megan and Hampton had only one thing they focused on for the wedding–the band. Their friends and family were traveling to this wedding to honor them and they wanted it to be fun. The band set the tone, engaged the crowd and from my perspective were a pleasure to deal with. Wedding Reception Pebble Hill Plantation

Pure joy. That’s what the wedding was, pure joy.  The ceremony honored God, the reception honored our guests, the weekend celebrated the bride and groom and this mama was so, so happy.
