Techy Tuesday: Keeping Up With The Kiddos

Love this App – it makes keeping up with the kiddos a game.  I am trying it out now – so far so good.  It’s kind of fun.  Let me know what you think.

It’s called I’mOK.

The kiddos check in by phone with any or all of the who, what and where and a picture.  The more info they give the more points they get.

If they check in this is what I would see below. Of course this is not my family but I am hopeful I can train them.  It would be incredibly efficient when I am out of town. I could check in to see where the entire clan is without placing 5 phone calls or texts!  Not that I don’t trust the hubby to get them all to their assigned activities.  Just like to check.  For peace of mind.

Here are the highlights of this App that I like so far:

  • It encourages open communication, honesty and trust versus secretly tracking the child.
  • It provides positive reinforcement for communicating by rewarding the child for checking in.
  • It trains the child to use their iPhone as a positive, relational tool.
  • It is easy to use – for them and for me.
